Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The %% employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) The protective cage and seat pan assembly were not locked, blocked, or otherwise secured while in an upright position while employees were working in the hydraulic pump area of the Rounder, Model L-1000, hydrostatic loader. Some feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct this hazard, among others, would be to insure that the seat pan assembly is locked in an upright position or to prevent the engagement of the foot controls during maintenance and repair operations.
