Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were cauing or likely to cause death or serious physcial harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of falling or flying debris from off the building: a) West Side of The 4th Floor of The Tower - employees working along the edge of the building laying masonry block, were subject to being struck from materials that could fall from the building or overhead. Observed 8/31/89 Abatement Note: A feasible method and useful means of abatement would be to install a wooden canopy that extended out from the floor above.
