Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a fall hazard: a. An unprotected 11 ft. 7 inch fall hazard onto the concrete floor below, while working the leading edge placing 4x4 lumber and sheets of plywood to construct a floor form to support rebar and other material used in the future concrete pour in this area. Among others, one feasible and acceptable means of abatement would be to install a static line across the work area for employees to connect a safety belt lanyard, on or about June 15, 1993.
