Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: %% The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a. Possible scaffold collapse due to the 5 foot x 6 foot tubular welded frame scaffold with a maximum working load of 2,250 pounds, loaded with a cube of 8 inch cinder blocks having an approximate weight of 3,178 pounds.A feasible and acceptable means of abatement would be to keep loads within maximum working limits and instruct operators and supervision of load ratings on scaffolds, on or about June 10, 1993. b. Scaffold collapse due to the material and laborer work area of a Morgen scaffold rated at 2,000 pounds load design, loaded with a cube of 3/4 solid cinder blocks having an approximate weight of 4,800 pound, on or about May 19, 1993. A feasible and acceptable means of abatement would be to keep loads within maximum working limits and instruct operators and supervision of load ratings on scaffolds, on or about June 8, 1993.
