Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing, striking injuries: a) Employee(s) were exposed to hazards associated with being struck by or crushed by a suddenly descending lift while working under vehicles held by the lifts at the North side of the East shop and in the center and West bays of the West shop, in that safety devices were not properly maintained and/or used and lifts were not inspectedin accordance with Section 6 ANSI Standard B153.1-1974. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is:
