employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were
free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death
or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to:
a) Employees entered Flat Storage Cottonseed Meal House at site for
servicing and rescure at the bottom of an approximately 39 ft. high
pile of cottonseed meal which was unstable and sliding and protective
system(s) was not used to shield the cottonseed meal to prevent
employees from being hit and covered by falling cottonseed meal.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard s to developed and implement protective shielding
system(s) which will protect employees from the hazard of being
covered with cottonseed meal which would result in suffocation.
