Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which
were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause
death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were
exposed to the hazards of fire and explosion from aluminum dust.
Hazards exist due to the dry-type aluminum dust collector being
located inside the building.
a.  Dust Collection Area - A Torit/Day Division, Donaldson
Company, Inc., dry-type dust collector, Environmental Control
Booth Power Module, used to collect aluminum dust was located
inside the building.
ABATEMENT NOTE:  Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable
abatement method to correct this hazard is to install, use and
maintain collector using National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)
Standard No. 65, Standard for the Processing and Finishing of
Aluminum, for guidance.
