Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The
employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were
free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death
or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to:
a) The hazard of being struck by a truss weighing approximately 100,000
pounds.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this
hazard is for the employer to follow one of the three methods approved
for moving segmental bridge trusses. This condition occurred during
movement of a segmental bridge construction truss between stations DD-28
and DD-27 on or about June 6, 1989, at interstate 85 North at Durango
Street, San Antonio, Texas.
