Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were
free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death
or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to:
a) Roof trusses installed on or about July 2, 1986 were not adequately
braced to prevent the trusses from collapsing laterally, exposing
employees installing the trusses to falls from elevations and others
to being struck by the falling trusses.
One feasible and acceptable abatement method, among others, would be to
install the trusses in accordance with the recommendations of the Truss
Plate institute Incorporated, "Bracing Wood Trusses 1976", as
recommended by the truss designer and truss manufacturer.
