were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause
death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were
exposed to:
..... the hazard of crushing injuries created when the Globe twin
cylinder automotive lift suddenly drops 6 to 8 inches. The air/oil
system leaks oil, causing the lift to drop without warning.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard is the use of four jack stands placed under the
vehicle's frame or suspension for support.
