SECTION 5(A)(1) OF THE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH ACT OF 1970: THE %% EMPLOYER DID NOT FURNISH EMPLOYMENT AND A PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT WHICH WERE FREE FROM RECOGNIZED HAZARDS THAT WERE CAUSING OR LIKELY TO CAUSE DEATH OR SERIOUS PHYSICAL HARM TO EMPLOYEES IN THAT EMPLOYEES WERE EXPOSED TO: LAUNDRY PICK UP CHUTES - NORTHWEST CHUTE - SOILED LINEN NOT BAGGED AT AT LOCATION OF US. SOILED LINEN NOT TRANSPORTED IN BAGS WHICH PREVENT LEAKAGE. METHODS WHICH ARE FEASIBLE AND USEFUL TO CONTROL THIS HAZARD INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: 1) FOLLOW HOSPTIALS PROCEDURE TO BAG ANY WET LINEN IN PLASTIC PRIOR TO PUTTING IN CLOTH LAUNDRY BAG. 2) BAGGING ALL LAUNDRY IN PLASTIC BAGS PRIOR TO PUTTING IN CLOTH BAGS.
