General-duty citation text
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious phyical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a fall hazard: a) Society Hill Complex, Building 8 - Employee observed working on an aluminum pole pump jack scaffold, braced above the 27 feet, 8 inches level, on or about March 6, 1990. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to install the appropriate bracing at 16 feet intervals and at the roof since the poles are above the 24 foot height requirement.
