29 CFR 1926.105(a): Safety nets were not provided when workplaces were more than 25 feet above the ground or water surface, or other surfaces where the use of ladders, scaffolds, catch platforms, tempor- ary floors, safety lines, or safety belts was impractical: "Or in the Alternative" Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) Westside of Bell Tower - Employee removing paint from bell tower, standing on a make shift 2 X 6 work platform, exposed to a 15 foot fall hazard and was not wearing safety belt and lanyard.
