Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) 11th floor - Employee 28" away from floor edge installing 21" high concrete slab for the building edge to be used as part of window without a safety belt and lifeline on 5/23/90. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to provide fall protection such as safety nets and safety lines and belts where practical.
