Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to hazards from uncontrolled loads and swinging and/or falling steel: (a) D and E Building Construction Site - Up to eight (8) steel beams being lifted and erected on lines exposint employees to hazards of uncontrolled loads and swinging and/or falling steel, on or about September 18, 1992. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to prohibit the practice of tandem loading or christmas treeing of steel.
