Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The %% employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to death/severe internal injuries from falling or being thrown from the moving truck: A) A & B Disposal Company - Employee(s) ride on the rear of the truck or on the steps on long trips when the truck is traveling at more than 10 MPH and is not protected against falling hazard, on or about October 22 and 23, 1990. Among other methods, one feasible method is to prohibit this practice and require riding in the cab for long trips or at high speeds or to provide safety belts similar to those used on fire trucks for use on long trips; and to implement a training program for employees on proper riding methods.

Among other feasible methods, one method is to prohibit this practice and to implement a training program for employees on the proper riding methods.
