Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing hazards: a) Unit # 6, B Bay - Employees were standing on the crane platform while the crane was being operated. Employee(s) had been changing light bulbs from the bridge walkway of the overhead crane. ONE FEASIBLE WAY TO ABATE THIS ITEM IS TO USE CHERRY PICKERS TO REACH BULBS IN OVERHEAD AREAS OF THE PLANT.
