29 CFR 1926.550(a)(1):  The employer did not comply with the
manufacturer's specifications
and limitations applicable to the operation of crane(s) or derrick(s):
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to:
(a) On or about 05/18/02 for an employee operating a Grove 24 Hydro-crane
at
Angostura Dam and exposed to the potential hazard of serious injury or
death created by
the crane tipping over due to the lack of a boom angle indicator or radius
indicator
installed on the crane.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard is
to install either a boom angle indicator or a radius indicator on the
Grove
24 Hydro-crane as
specified by ANSI/ASME B30.5-1982 or the later revision ANSI/ASME
B30.5-2000.
