LOADING DOCK LEVELERS AT LOADING BAYS' 1 AND 2 EXPOSED EMPLOYEES
USING MATERIAL HANDLING EQUIPMENT TO A FALL OF 4 1/2 FT. TO THE
CONCRETE LOADING BAY FLOOR.
ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD
IS TO:
1) CONDUCT A PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION PROGRAM AS
RECOMMENDED TO THE MANUFACTURER IN ACCORDANCE WITH ASME/ANSI
MH 14.1 - 1987 EDITION.
2) CONDUCT SAFETY TRAINING OF ALL EMPLOYEES WHO USE THE DOCK LEVELERS
AND INSTRUCT THEM ON THE HAZARDS ASSOCIATED WITH THESE DEVICES.
