Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a fall hazard: a) Warehouse 7575 Brewster Ave. - employee on order picker and with lanyard connected to safety belt attached to platform measured 8 feet in length, maxium length should be 5 feet. Observed 11/07/89. ABATEMENT NOTE: A feasible method of a abatement is to provide a lanyard with maximum length of 5 feet.
