Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The %% employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to multiple injuries from a rotating fan blade: a) Ming Chen Mushroom Camp, Unit #1 - Kitchen fan was not provided with a guard to prevent employee's hand(s) from coming in contact with moving fan blades, 5 foot from the floor, on or about August 28, 1989. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to: Provide a guard on the fan opening with opening no larger than one-half inch.
