Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment ans a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees wereexposed to falling 26 feet to their death from standing and working from the platform on the ends of the forks of the Loadall Lift truck: a) South Side of Building, Loadall Lift truck, 525, B4 HL - Employee working on platform 26 feet above ground with no fall protection provided, on or about August 25, 1989. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to: Ensure that employee is wearing safety belt with lifeline when working on platform.
