Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a fall hazard: a.) A fall hazard of fifteen feet (15') while installing guardrail s around the perimeter of the second floor. At the time of the ins pection, the employees were working on the north side of the second floor. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method t o correct this hazard is to provide employees with safety belts and lanyards to wear during this operation.
