Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) In that employees were required to perform service functions on installed security systems in customer establishments under various conditions of hazardous exposure such as, fall hazards, confined spaces, etc. with which they were not familiar. Among other methods, one feasible and useful method to correct this hazard would be to establish and implement a program of information and training for all employees exposed to recognized hazards in the performance of their duties.
