Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) Forming department, conveyors C-1, C-3, F-1, and F-2, transfer workers, selectors, and gage attendants were exposed to hazards of ingoing nip points without being able to activate emergency stops. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to conduct routine inspections to insure that the emergency stops are retained and functioning properly using American National Standards Institute B.20.1 as a guideline.

Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to train transfer workers, selectors, and gage attendants in the operation of conveyors in emergency situations using American National Standards Institute B20.1 as a guideline.
