Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The %% employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) The T.L.M. Inc.; DBA, Waukegan, Toyota, Lincoln, Mercury, Subaru, Inc: did not have locking mechanisms on the automotive lifts that prevented the unexpected lowering of the lift while employees were servicing the vechile under carriage in violation of American National Standard Institute B153.1-1990 Subparagraph 4.1.11 (1) A feasible method to correct this hazard is to provide a locking mechanism for your automotive lift, such as that specified in ANS, B153.1-1990.
