Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were ...the hazard of being struck or crushed beneath a falling load. Employee(s) performing work underneath vehicles raised on the Globe twin post car lifts, were exposed to the hazard of being struck by a falling load since the car lifts were not equipped with a safety leg or latch designed to support the load should the hydraulic system fail and prevent the laod from falling.
