Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which
were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause
death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were
exposed to the hazards of being struck by the loads attached to an
elevated titan scissors lift table when performing maintenance tasks
beneath the elevated work platform:
a.  Employees are exposed to the hazards of being struck by the
loads attached to an elevated Titan Scissors Lift Table when performing
maintenance tasks beneath the elevated work platform, loads, for the
number 1 laminator machine in the mat department.  Among other methods,
one method to correct this hazard is to comply with the manufacturers
safety instructions requiring that the lift have no load(s) upon it before
positioning safety blocks.
