Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) Employees working on the roof deck along the south end of the building under construction at 7150 Paddock Road were exposed to the hazards associated with falls in excess of 20', and fall protection equipment, devices, or systems were not used. Feasible and acceptable methods, among others, to correct this hazard are the use of catch platforms, scaffolding, scissors lifts, rotating and articulating lifts, life lines, static lines, and fall arrest harnesses and lanyards.
