Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) Employees (trayers) working in the Bread Wrap Area (4-Line) were exposed to an increased risk of muscoloskeletal disorders such as shoulder and arm strains, and low back injuries while performing repetitive lifting tasks associated with loading loaves of bread into plastic trays, reaching above shoulder height to obtain empty trays, and stacking full trays above shoulder height.
