Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which
were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause
death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were
exposed to:
Employees working in laundry, housekeeping, maintenance, and
as nurses' aides were exposed to direct or indirect contact with
blood or other body fluids in the normal course of their duties,
and had not been provided Hepatitis B vaccinations in amounts
and at times prescribed by standard medical practice.  This
requirement for vaccination for Hepatitis B virus is from a Joint
Advisory Notice from the Department of Labor/Department of Health
and Human Services (Center for Disease Control) dated October
19, 1987.

Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which
were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause
death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were
exposed to:
The employer failed to ensure all employees working in nursing,
laundry, housekeeping, and as nurses' aides received education
on epidemiology, modes of transmission, symptoms, and prevention
of bloodborne pathogens such as HBV and HIV.  Inservice training
covering these topics was offered on 9/27/90, but has not been
provided to all employees hired after that date.
