Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to:
On or about 12-13-93, two (2) employees riding on a rear platform 5
1/2 ft. by 2 ft. for
the Load Star 1700 series glue truck at mile marker 166, Roue I-55
North, near Normal,
IL were exposed tothe hazard of falling off the platform of the
slow-moving truck, while
installing pavement markers.  Among other methods, one feasible and
acceptable
abatement method to correct this hazard is to provide guardrails for
the platform.

There were serious hazards noted such as the lack of fall protection
for employees riding

Series glue truck
used on 12-13-93 at mile marker 166, Route I-55 northbound, near
Normal, IL.
