Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: On or about June 14, 1994, while installing wood trusses on a one story building, employees were exposed to the hazards of serious injuries such as lacerations, fractures, internal injuries or death from a fall while performing their duties on top of the trusses which were 19' from ground level. Adequate protection was not provided to prevent this from happening. Among others, feasible and acceptable methods of abatement to include: Static or catenary lines, in conjunction with safety belts and lanyards, aerial lifts, scissor lifts and scaffolds.
