Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to a fall hazard:
(a) Whey Plant Intake; employee(s) accessed the top of stainless steel
bulk milk trucks
to hook up and disconnect the CIP (Clean In Place) washer.
AMONG OTHER METHODS, FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT
METHODS TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD INCLUDE; BUT ARE NOT LIMITED
TO:
1.Install a work platform with appropriate guard rails.
2.Design, install and implement a fall arrest system consisting of an
appropriate anchorage point, retractable lanyard and body harness.
