Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a)Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 - The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to amputation hazards and electrical shock hazards. No Lockout/Tagout program was established for employees performing maintenance at equipment such as, but not limited to: (a) Fabrication shop: Large Industrial Inc., Air Compressor (b) Carpenter shop:2- Rockwell Table Saw 1- Rockwell Delta Joiner 1- Rockwell 13x6 Planer 1- Rockwell Radial Arm Saw Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to establish a written Lockout/Tagout program covering the requirements listed in 29 C.F.R. 1910.147, "The Control of Hazardous Energy (lockout/tagout)".
