Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to death from fire/explosion: The employer did not provide employees with a positive means of preventing "eninge runaway" on the (2) two diesel-powered vacuum R Model Mack trucks which were being used to clean up flammable liquid chemical spills. One acceptable means of abatement would be to install an intake cut-off devie which would terminate intake air being drawn into the diesel engine.
