Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to employees were exposed to a fall hazard while working on a JLG brand self-propelled scissor lift. (a) Outside, along the face of the building to a fall hazard of approximately 16 ft. while standing on the guardrail of a JLG lift Model 25 MS to gain additional height. One feasible and acceptable abatement method would be to insure the use of safety belts and lanyards as described in ANSI A92.6 1979.
