Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employmnent and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a fall hazard: a)Adjacent airplane hanger, on or about 12/17/97; An employee was operating a Ford 455D Tractor Loader Backhoe with another employee standing in the bucket which was aprox. 10 feet above the ground, exposing him to a fall hazard. ABATEMENT NOTES; Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to remove the employee from the bucket.
