P.L. 91596 Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health
Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of
employment which were free from recognized hazards that were
causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of contact
with hot surfaces:
(a)Extrusion Department  Die end temperatures of 380 degrees are
adjacent to the walkway and within 5 feet of equipment control
panel that is checked hourly.
Among other methods, feasible and acceptable abatement methods to
correct his hazard include:
1.Installing barrier guards to prevent employee exposure,
and
2.Covering the die ends with a nonheat conductive.
