Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) Clinic - 3 nurses on staff - employees are treated for cuts, shots are administered as needed: thereby, exposing the nursing staff to the potential hazard of being infected by HBV. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means to correct this hazards is: (1) Offer employees Hepatitis B vaccinations free of charge in amounts and at times precribed by standard medical practices.
