Section 5(a)(1) of the Occpational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) Gadsden sewer rehabilitation, Riverside Drive, along reverfront employees come in contract with raw sewage which may contain blood and other body fluids, thereby exposing employees to the hazard of being infected by HBV. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means of correct this hazard include: 1) Offer employees hepatitis B vaccinations free of charge in amounts and at times prescribed by standard medical practices. 2) Provide jacket to minimize contract with sewage. 3) Provide shower facility at the main trailer and require showering at the end of each shift. 4) Provide separate storage facilities so that employees will not be forced to wear contaminated clothing home.
