Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) Employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck by or falling from a collapsing wood roof truss system, in that the trusses were not adequately braced relative to the amount, size, and location of the braces, on or about 9/1/88, at 210 South Boulevard, New Port Richey, Florida 33552. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method of abatemetn to correct this hazard is to install trusses in accordance with the Truss Plate Institute's, Bracing Wood Trusses, BWT-76.

Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: The employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck by falling tools and materials while working under the roof truss system being installed, on or about 9/1/88 at 210 South Boulevard, New Port Richey, Florida 33552. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method of abatement to correct this hazard is to require employees to wear hard hats that meet with ANSI 289.1-1969 requirements when working under any area where tools or materials could fall on them.
