Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to Fall Hazards of approximately 16 feet to the ground below: a) On or about 08/14/91 at #1 Telecom Parkway East, Temple Terrace, Florida, when two employees were working at the edge of the roof on the north side of the generator room. Employees were in the process of forming columns at the edge of the roof without utilizing any form of fall protection. Among other methods of Fall Protection, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct the Hazard is to provide, and enforce the use of, safety belts, lanyards, and lifelines as appropriate, to protect employees from the inherent danger of falls during the course of their work.
