Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) The hazard of the fire that was created where a thin and corroded piece of sheet metal was used as a fire protection barrier between a wooden wall and the radiation boiling vat (9 inches from wall) that was heated by a large homemade propane torch on or about 12/29/93. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to relocate the vat further from the combustible wall.

Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) The hazard of being struck by ruptured plastic piping, in that; schedule 40 PVC pipe was installed in the service area and body shop to distribute 120 psi compressed air, on or about 12/29/93. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to replace the installed PVC piping with copper pipe and sweated
