similar or related hazards that may increase the potential for injury
resulting from an accident.
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The
employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which
were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause
death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were

(a) The hazard of falling and being struck by a Caterpillar
Crawler Loader operated at 10108 Lucas, in St. Louis, MO.
The loader was used to transport personnel standing in the

Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement
method to correct this hazard is the immediate removal of
personnel riding in the bucket; the initiation of a safety
policy for Bellon Wrecking and Salvage Company which would
prohibit the transportation of personnel on construction
equipment and the initiation of diciplinary action against
personnel violating company safety policy.
