dental assistants, were exposed to the hazard of being infected
by HBV and/or HIV through possible direct contact with blood or
other body fluids while performing routine dental procedures,
such as but not limited to extractions.  Feasibel and useful
abatement
methods for reducting this hazard, among others are:
(a)  Establish follow-up procedures for employees
exposed to potentially infective (HIV/HBV) body fluids.
(b)  Eliminate recapping needles (syringes) by hand, through the
use of self-sheathing needles, resheathing instrucments,
forceps or other equality protective devices.
