were exposed to the hazard of being crushed/struck by falling trusses:
a) On or about 6/18/03 at the Dollar General Store, 1320 Washington
Street, Jamestown, NY.,
proper bracing of trusses was not performed causing them to collapse.
AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT
METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS TO:
1) UTILIZE THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE TRUSS PLATE INSTITUTE WHICH
WERE CONTAINED IN HIB-91 BOOKLET, RECOMMENDATIONS FOR HANDLING,
INSTALLING, & BRACING METAL PLATE CONNECTED WOOD TRUSSES
DELIVERED TO SITE WITH THE TRUSSES.
2) FOLLOW THE SHOP DRAWINGS PROVIDED BY THE MANUFACTURER OF THE
TRUSSES.
3) FOLLOW RECOMMENDATIONS SET FORTH BY DESIGNING ENGINEERING
FIRM.
