Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which
were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause
death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were
exposed to:
(a) A dynalift, model 544A, material lift, being operated on
the west section of the yard, had a rider other than the operator,
riding on the left side of the lift where a seat or seat belt was
not availabe and where the equipment was not designed for any riders
other than the oeprator, exposing employees to possible crushing
injuries.
(b) Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement
method to correct this hazard is to prohibit riders on this type of
equipment.
