General-duty citation text
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) Hazard of being struck by shattered P.V.C. pipe which is installed above ground and is not constructed of or encased in shatter resistant material. P.V.C. pipe is rated at 450 PSI at 23 degrees C. water presure and is operating with approximately 110 PSI compressed air transportation with black iron pipe.
