Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The %% employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were required to perform task involving the lifting, moving, placement and tieing off of logs for standards in barges: (a) At log loading terminal on March 21, 1994. Examples of engineering, work place, and administrative controls applicable to this work place may include, but are not limited to, the following: (1)Place permanent standers in the barges. (2)Develop a written job safety analysis for log loading operations; which will include the following: safe method for lifting single logs used for standers, safe procedure for placement of standers in the barges, safe method for loading logs into the barges, effective communications between the crane operator and the barge
